The Sequoia Ravens are taking a road trip to challenge the Gunn Titans at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Sequoia has four straight victories, Gunn has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Jada Crockett made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mehta Nisha, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. Elkington Jamie was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, Gunn came up short against Homestead on Tuesday, falling 20-9.
Makena Smith made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one stolen base.
The victory got Sequoia back to even at 7-7. As for Gunn, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.
Sequoia's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's match. The Ravens have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Gunn, though, as they've been averaging only 1.1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Sequoia continue to outrun the ball?
Sequoia suffered a grim 15-1 defeat to Gunn in their previous matchup back in April of 2015. Can the Ravens avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
