Basketball Game Preview: Grace Lancers vs. Thacher Toads

Grace hasn't had much luck against Thacher recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Grace Lancers will head out on the road to square off against the Thacher Toads at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Grace is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 56 points on Monday, they were much more limited against Foothill Tech on Wednesday. They were dealt a 61-26 loss at the hands of the Dragons. The Lancers were down 47-16 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Meanwhile, Thacher ended up a good deal behind Bishop Diego on Wednesday and lost 65-50. The Toads haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Grace's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-9. As for Thacher, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Grace came up short against Thacher when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 47-40. Can Grace avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
