Baseball Recap: Stevenson Victorious

Stevenson won the last time they faced Pacific Grove and things went their way on Friday too. The Pirates had just enough and edged out the Breakers 6-5. That's two games straight that the Pirates have won by just one run.

Flint Dickson looked comfortable as he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Henry Blaxter, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Mugan, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Stevenson has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Pacific Grove, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.

Stevenson didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 19-4 loss against Carmel on the 3rd. As for Pacific Grove, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Greenfield on the 7th.
