Football Recap: James Moffat Leads Crespi's Defense on Friday

Crespi had won two straight home games and Chase Curren did his part to make it three on Friday. The Celts breezed past the St. Anthony Saints to the tune of 42-6 with plenty of help from Curren, who threw for 198 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 79 yards and one TD on only five carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 86 yards.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Crespi's defense and their four sacks. St. Anthony's QB won't forget James Moffat anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Crespi received some extra help from Oliver White, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Crespi's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for St. Anthony, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crespi will host La Salle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Celts will be up against the Lancers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 39.33 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for St. Anthony, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary at 7:00 p.m. The Saints will be up against the Cardinals' rather soft defense (which has allowed 44 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
