Matteo Tarca Turns in Season-Best Effort

On Friday, Burroughs got the W thanks in part to Matteo Tarca playing the best football he has all season. Tarca rushed for 334 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.

Burroughs pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Tarca will try to repeat (or improve) on that dominant effort when he faces off against Pasadena on Friday.

Deshawn Laporte Has Career-Day on Friday

Burbank was led to victory by Deshawn Laporte, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Laporte rushed for 97 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries, and also threw for 135 yards and two touchdowns, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.

The win was the fourth in a row for Burbank, bringing their record for this year to 6-2. Laporte and Burbank will welcome Crescenta Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Leonidas Grant Crosses Big Stat Threshold

Leonidas Grant posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He rushed for 119 yards and four touchdowns on only ten carries. Thanks to that strong showing, he's now averaging 2.2 rushing touchdowns per game. He is becoming a predictor of Crescenta Valley's success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is 2-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't).
