Volleyball Recap: Savannah Arts Academy Starts off Right with Win over Jenkins

Savannah Arts Academy took care of business in their home opener on Thursday. They came out on top against the Jenkins Warriors by a score of 2-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2020.

Savannah Arts Academy easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-11.

Savannah Arts Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Natalie Lehto, who had 13 assists and three digs. Those 13 assists gave Lehto a new career-high.

Savannah Arts Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jenkins only served two aces.

Coincidentally, Savannah Arts Academy and Jenkins will both be playing Savannah Country Day the next time they take the court. The Warriors will head out to face the Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Panthers will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
