Softball Recap: Archbishop Mitty Monarchs vs. Carlmont Scots
Archbishop Mitty can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 12-3 margin over the Carlmont Scots. Winning may never get old, but Archbishop Mitty sure is getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
Kyleigh Mace looked comfortable as she pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (she also didn't allow any walks). Georgia Sperling relieved her and did a solid job, tossing 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits (she also only allowed one walk).
On the hitting side, McKenna Woliczko was incredible, going 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. She is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Olivia Anderson, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and a double.
On Carlmont's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Molly Brand, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Wilson, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Archbishop Mitty's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Carlmont, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.
Archbishop Mitty will take on Monte Vista at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Carlmont, they will head out on the road to challenge Aragon at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
