Soccer Game Preview: Pottstown vs. Upper Merion Area

Pottstown is 0-9-1 against Upper Merion Area since October of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. The Trojans will challenge the Vikings at 6:45 p.m. Pottstown has given up an average of 8.3 goals per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Pottstown lost 10-1 to Pope John Paul II on Tuesday. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no goals scored by either team from that point forward.

Meanwhile, Upper Merion Area came up short against Phoenixville on Tuesday and fell 4-2. While losing is never fun, Upper Merion Area can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 333rd, while Phoenixville are ranked 97th).

Pottstown's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Upper Merion Area, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-13.

Pottstown suffered a grim 5-1 defeat to Upper Merion Area when the teams last played back in September. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
