Basketball Recap: Peoria Heights Takes a Loss

Peoria Heights lost against Galva back in January of 2019 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Peoria Heights Patriots were beaten by the Galva Wildcats 70-41. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 568th, while the Wildcats are ranked 196th).

Galva's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was MJ Louck, who went 6 for 8 on his way to 14 points and six steals. Those six steals gave Louck a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Stahl, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 16 points and five assists.

Peoria Heights has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Galva, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.

Peoria Heights didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 55-38 win against Lewistown on the 13th. As for Galva, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 68-40 victory against LaMoille on the 19th.
