Baseball Game Preview: Concord Academy Eagles vs. Gaston Day Spartans

The Concord Academy Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Gaston Day Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Gaston Day took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Concord Academy, who comes in off a win.

Concord Academy was handed an eight-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene two weeks ago. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Hickory Grove Christian 9-7. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

SouthLake Christian Academy hit Gaston Day with a five-run third inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Spartans came up short against the Eagles, falling 13-3.

Gaston Day's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Concord Academy, the victory got them back to even at 4-4-1.

Concord Academy got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 against Gaston Day by a conclusive 9-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
