Baseball Game Preview: Winslow Bulldogs vs. Bourgade Catholic Golden Eagles

The Winslow Bulldogs will head out to challenge the Bourgade Catholic Golden Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Winslow and nine for Bourgade Catholic.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Winslow and Chino Valley meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Bulldogs lost 16-2 to the Cougars.

Winslow saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Martinez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Bourgade Catholic fell victim to Gilbert Christian and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Knights, falling 10-0.

Winslow's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13-1. As for Bourgade Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.

Everything went Winslow's way against Bourgade Catholic in their previous meeting back in March of 2022, as Winslow made off with a 25-0 victory. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Golden Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
