Preview: Eastlake Titans vs. Central Spartans

The Eastlake Titans will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Central Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Eastlake beat Bonita Vista 30-17. The victory was just what Eastlake needed coming off of a 36-14 loss in their prior game.

Eastlake's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but William Schmitz led the charge by rushing for 135 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Schmitz was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 51 yards. Kingston Schaaf also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Central entered their tilt with Brawley with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Central walked away with a 14-7 victory over Brawley on Friday. 14 seems to be a good number for Central as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nico Viesca, who rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown.

Central's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Brawley's QB won't forget Jared Martin anytime soon given Martin sacked him four times.

Eastlake is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-6 record this season. As for Central, their victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-2.
