Softball Game Preview: Mogollon Mustangs vs. Hayden Lobos

The Mogollon Mustangs are taking a road trip to take on the Hayden Lobos at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Mogollon has given up an average of 9 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Mogollon's offense. They lost 11-0 to Williams on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty 21 runs in the game before, the Mustangs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hayden). They put the hurt on Desert Christian with a sharp 24-5 victory on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Lobos sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

The win got Hayden back to even at 8-8. As for Mogollon, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-12.

Mogollon skirted past Hayden 14-13 in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
