Basketball Recap: Brookside's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Brookside won the last time they faced Clearview, and Markie Aliff did her part to make sure it happened again. The Brookside Cardinals had just enough and edged the Clearview Clippers out 48-46 thanks in part to Aliff, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 24 rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Octavia Gonzales was another key player, putting up five points and three steals. She is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games.

The victory snapped Brookside's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-10 record. As for Clearview, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brookside will square off against Columbia at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing isn't great for Brookside: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Columbia has snatched up five consecutive wins on the road. As for Clearview, they will face off against Black River at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Clearview is facing Black River at the right time seeing as Black River is stuck on a 14-game losing streak.
