Chilton County had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Calera on Thursday. The Tigers blew past the Eagles 9-1. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 contests by six  runs or more this season.
 Kaylee Dunn was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. Dunn was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with one  home run, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Avree Williams was  excellent,  scoring two  runs while going 1-for-4. That's the most  runs  she has posted since back in March.  Ishunti Brown was another key player,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-3.
Chilton County is  on a roll lately: they've  won 21 of their last 25 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-6-2 record  this season. As for Calera, their loss was  their eighth straight on the road, which  dropped their record down to 6-17.
 Looking ahead, Chilton County will square off against Benjamin Russell at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The last three games the Wildcats have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Calera, they will face off against Auburn at 5:30  p.m.  on Monday.
