Everything went their way against the Amphitheater Panthers on Monday as they made off with an 18-1 win. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Aiden Moat made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Sahuaro got a massive performance out of Cody Taitano, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with six stolen bases, four runs, and one double. What's more, Taitano posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March. Adrian Montano was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Sahuaro always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
