Baseball Recap: Pikeview's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Eight

PikeView had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Princeton Tigers as they made off with a 7-1 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Eli Hilling spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up 13 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, PikeView saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Bolen, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Another was Austin Bennett, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

PikeView pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Princeton, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Coming up, PikeView will be playing in front of their home fans against Graham at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Princeton, they will welcome WestSide at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Renegades have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
