 The Poplar Springs Atomics are on the road again  on Tuesday to play the Wewahitchka Gators at 5:00  p.m. Wewahitchka took a loss in their last  match and will be looking to turn the tables on Poplar Springs, who comes in off a win.
 On Monday, Poplar Springs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  an  8-7  win over Ponce De Leon.
  Declyn Griffin made a splash no matter where he played. He  pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits. Griffin was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base.
 Griffin wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  James Gilmore, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances.
 Meanwhile, Wewahitchka was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight  defeat. Their  rough  13-3 loss to Munroe  might stick with them for a while.
 Wewahitchka saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Tucker Adkison, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-2.
 Even though they lost, Wewahitchka  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with six  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Munroe only tossed  no.
 Poplar Springs is  on a roll lately: they've  won eight of their last nine matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record  this season. As for Wewahitchka, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-14.
 The pitchers for both teams better look sharp  on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Poplar Springs has been swiping bases left and right this season,  having  averaged 4.5  stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Wewahitchka struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 4.7. The only question left is which team can snag more.
 Poplar Springs was able to grind out a solid  victory over Wewahitchka in their previous matchup  back in April of 2023, winning  10-6. Will Poplar Springs repeat their success,  or does  Wewahitchka have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
