Game recap: Carmel High School Football Team beats Warren Central

CARMEL, Ind. - Warren Central (Indianapolis, Ind.) came into Saturday's contest ranked No. 3 in Indiana, but was stunned by Carmel (Ind.), 21-15. Carmel was ranked at No. 5 in the MaxPreps Freeman Rankings for Indiana coming into the week.

The Warriors pulled ahead on a field goal by Max Hernandez, and subsequently went into halftime leading 6-0. The Greyhounds took the lead to win the game on a Grant Mullen touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

But eight points in the fourth helped Carmel pull out the victory.

CHS didn't take the lead for good until the the fourth quarter when Mullen ran for a touchdown.

Warren Central's lone touchdown came on a defensive touchdown in the third quarter.



The Greyhounds came into the game allowing 17.0 points per game. Warren Central's 15 points were below its season average of 21.3 per game.

The win brought Carmel's winning streak to four games.

In a Metropolitan game next week Carmel (5-2) takes on Pike, and Warren Central (4-3) will go up against Lawrence Central also in a Metropolitan game.
