Softball Game Preview: Bryan Vikings vs. Lorena Leopards

The Bryan Vikings will be taking part in a tournament against the Lorena Leopards at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. Bryan will be strutting in after a win while Lorena will be coming in after a defeat.

On Tuesday, Bryan earned a 14-10 victory over Rudder.

Bryan got a massive performance out of Trinity Rush, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Makalen Tijerina, who went 2-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

Bryan hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rudder struck out ten times.

Meanwhile, Lorena unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of Godley by a score of 7-6 on Monday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Jaylie Werner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Abby Generals made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and earned three RBI and one run.
