Volleyball Recap: Mechanicsburg Falls Short of West Jefferson in the Playoffs

Mechanicsburg and West Jefferson squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Mechanicsburg had to settle for second. They fell 3-1 to the Roughriders. The defeat continues a trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Roughriders: they've now lost seven in a row.

The final score came out to 25-17, 25-19, 16-25, 25-23.

Alasia Critchfield paced Mechanicsburg's offense, picking up nine kills. Critchfield got some help from Sydnee Hurst and her 22 assists. Critchfield was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Mechanicsburg's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for West Jefferson, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-11.

Mechanicsburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West Jefferson, they will challenge Newark Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
