Softball Recap: Point Arena Pirates vs. Willits Wolverines
Point Arena kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. Their tough 13-3 loss to the Willits Wolverines might stick with them for a while.
Point Arena saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hattie Piper, who scored two runs and stole five bases while going 2-for-2. Alexa Ferreyra was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing two bases.
Willits' win ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-4.
Point Arena will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Willits at 4:00 p.m. on April 11th. As for Willits, they will head out on the road to take on Calistoga at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
