Blackfoot's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Everything went their way against the Hillcrest Knights as they made off with a 23-2 victory. Considering the Broncos have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Nash Randall tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024.
At the plate, Blackfoot got a massive performance out of Jason Williams, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two triples, three runs, and four RBI. Those two triples gave Williams a new career-high. Jagger Wren was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.
Blackfoot always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hillcrest only posted an OBP of .250.
Blackfoot's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Hillcrest, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Blackfoot beat the Knights by a score of 11-1 later that day.
