Santiam Christian waltzed into their game on Monday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They beat the Amity Warriors by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 17-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-2 last Friday.

The team relied heavily on Hunter Hedlund, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three doubles, and three RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Chess Lewer was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Santiam Christian hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive matches.

Santiam Christian's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Amity, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
