Pasquotank County falls despite strong effort from Anylah Bowe

Recap: Pasquotank County Panthers vs. First Flight Nighthawks

The Pasquotank County Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their seventh straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 57-26 loss at the hands of First Flight. While losing is never fun, Pasquotank County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 472nd, while First Flight is ranked 108th).

Despite the loss, Pasquotank County still got an impressive performance from Anylah Bowe, who dropped a triple-double on 12 points, ten rebounds, and 11 blocks. Bowe is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least nine every time she's taken the court this season.

First Flight got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Josephine Voight out in front who scored 11 points along with four steals. Voight hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Caroline Gardill, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and five steals.

Pasquotank County has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-18 record this season. As for First Flight, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-3.

Pasquotank County will look to defend their home court on Friday against Northeastern at 6:00 p.m. As for First Flight, they will head out on the road to take on Currituck County at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
