Game recap: Cook High School Football Team defeats Pelham

PELHAM, Ga. - Pelham (Ga.) fell 19-0 to Cook (Adel, Ga.).

After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Connor Hilliard to Jeremy Walden in the second quarter, the Hornets led 13-0 at the half.

Cook grew its lead to 19 points entering the fourth quarter. CHS's lone score in the quarter came on a Hilliard touchdown pass to Trey Jackson.

Coming into the game the Adel school had allowed 22.2 points per game this year. The Hornets held firm on the defensive front, and kept the Hornets well below the 27.4 points it had been averaging per game.



When the two teams played each other last season, Cook came away with a 42-10 victory.

The victory was a step in the right direction for CHS, which was coming off a 28-13 defeat at the hands of Fitzgerald in its previous game. The win broke Cook's two-game losing streak. The loss was the third in a row for Pelham.
