It was a good run, but Madison unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They came up short against the Westside Wolves, falling 71-45. While losing is never fun, the Marlins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1130th, while the Wolves are ranked 191st).

Madison now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Westside, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-2.

Madison will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Galena Park at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Westside will also get a bit of a break before their next contest: they'll face off against Cesar E. Chavez at 6:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
