Basketball Recap: Ascent Classical Academy Sets Scoring Season-High Against Ascent Classical Academy Northern Colorado

Ascent Classical Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 54-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ascent Classical Academy Northern Colorado Archers. On the bright side, the 44- point performance marked the Guardians' highest-scoring contest to date.

Several Guardians players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jack Colberg, who posted nine points in addition to six steals and five assists. Colberg has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Colberg, who had nine points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Jacob Cook produced another solid effort going 9-for-14 to rack up 19 points in addition to seven boards and three steals for Ascent Classical Academy Northern Colorado. Thanks to that strong game, Cook now owns an excellent 48% field goal percentage. Hayden Alles was another key player, dropping a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds.

Ascent Classical Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Ascent Classical Academy Northern Colorado, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Ascent Classical Academy and Crescent View Academy will compete for holiday cheer at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
