Basketball Recap: Mamou Comes Up Short

After flying high against Basile last Thursday, Mamou came back down to earth. The game between the Mamou Demons and the Ville Platte Bulldogs didn't end well, with the Mamou Demons falling 51-32. The Demons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.

Ville Platte got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Janiah Leday out in front who posted 18 points. Yazminn Ardoin was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Mamou has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Ville Platte, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-3.

Mamou wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 57-27 victory against Pine Prairie on the 6th. Ville Platte has also already played their next game, a 36-24 win against Mamou on the 7th.
