Volleyball Recap: Mount De Sales Academy Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Mount de Sales Academy had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Northside Eagles by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. For the Cavaliers, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 win the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2021.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-16.

Mount de Sales Academy's offense was headlined by Maddie Kayden and Elle Taylor, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Payton Latimer and her 22 assists. Laura Sparks controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

Coincidentally, Mount de Sales Academy and Northside will both be playing Rutland the next time they take the court. The Cavaliers will head out to face the Hurricanes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Eagles will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
