Softball Recap: Ten Straight Home Wins for Poway

Poway took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Mission Hills, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Titans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 win over the Grizzlies on Wednesday. This was a revenge game for the Titans: when they faced off against the Grizzlies back in April, they had to take a 6-0 loss.

Not much got past Mya McGowan, who gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Mission Hills off the board.

On the hitting side, Poway saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Grimm, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. That's the most hits Grimm has posted since back in March.

Poway's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Mission Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-10.

Poway wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 4-0 victory against Rancho Bernardo on the 16th. Mission Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
