Baseball Game Preview: Taft Toreadors vs. Cleveland Cavaliers

The Taft Toreadors are taking a road trip to challenge the Cleveland Cavaliers at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Taft has struggled recently with 11 defeats in a row, while Cleveland will arrive with four straight wins.

Taft fell victim to El Camino Real and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Royals. Toreadors fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Royals since on Friday.

Meanwhile, Cleveland posted their closest victory since March 1st on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past Granada Hills Charter 3-2.

Cleveland's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-12. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Taft, their loss dropped their record down to 4-20.

Taft suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Cleveland in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Toreadors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
