Softball Recap: Newburyport Takes a Loss

Newburyport managed to slip by Amesbury the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Clippers lost 10-2 to the Redhawks on Friday. The Clippers just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Newburyport saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cassidy Balcome, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and two stolen bases.

Newburyport's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Amesbury, they pushed their record up to 3-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Newburyport will square off against Georgetown at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Amesbury, they will take on Lynnfield at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
