Baseball Recap: Palestine-Wheatley Extends Home Winning Streak to Three

Palestine-Wheatley won the last time they faced England and things went their way on Monday too. The Palestine-Wheatley Patriots came out on top against the England Lions by a score of 6-1.

Haygan Henry spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Palestine-Wheatley got a big performance out of Andrew Knowlton, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Knowlton a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maddox Hoggatt, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Palestine-Wheatley's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for England, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Palestine-Wheatley will challenge McCrory at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for England, they will venture away from home to challenge Des Arc at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
