Basketball Game Preview: Simpson Broncos vs. Hackberry Mustangs

It'll be an old-fashioned rodeo when the Broncos duke it out with the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Simpson was handed a 39-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 62-59 victory over Holden. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Broncos have posted against the Rockets since December 19, 2019.

Meanwhile, Hackberry came tearing into Thursday's matchup with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.4 points), and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 55-40 victory over the Hornets.

Hackberry pushed their record up to 26-13 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points over those games. As for Simpson, their victory bumped their record up to 10-22.

Simpson didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Hackberry in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 54-49 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Simpson since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
