Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot suffers seventh straight loss on the road

On Monday, Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot was the victim of a tough 54-32 defeat at the hands of Spirit HomeSchool. That's two games in a row now that Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot has lost by exactly 22 points.

Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Erin Maynes, who scored ten points along with seven steals. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for Maynes. Charlie Potter was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five assists and five rebounds.

Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot's defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-5. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.1 points per game. As for Spirit HomeSchool, the win was the third in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record for this year to 1-0.

Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Nottoway at 6:00 p.m. Nottoway comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Spirit HomeSchool will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Summit Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
