Hanahan's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the North Charleston Cougars. The Hawks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cougars, too.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Hanahan took every set by at least 18 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-3, 25-6, 25-7.

Leading Hanahan to victory were Peyton Bellew and Juliette Owens. Bellew had six aces and five digs, while Owens had 21 assists and three aces. That's the most aces Owens has posted over her last eight matchups.

They weren't the only good servers: Hanahan was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 23 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Hanahan's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-10-2. As for North Charleston, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Coincidentally, Hanahan and North Charleston will both be playing Battery Creek the next time they take the court. The Hawks will host the Dolphins at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Cougars will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
