Flag Football Game Preview: Marana Tigers vs. Corona del Sol Aztecs + How To Watch

Two dominant signal callers in Isabella Garcia and Alana James are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Marana Tigers will be playing at home against the Corona del Sol Aztecs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Corona del Sol will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Marana extended their winning streak to seven on Saturday. The Tigers breezed past Crismon to the tune of 36-6. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona flag football rankings (they are ranked second, while the Rattlers are ranked 33rd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Corona del Sol never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past Millennium 31-0. The high-scoring effort was just what the Aztecs needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Corona del Sol's win came from a few key players Marana will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Sofia Villone, who threw for 292 yards and three touchdowns. Amyah Anderson helped Villone out on the ground, picking up 135 receiving yards and one score, while also punching in one TD on the ground.

Corona del Sol's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Mariah Ruelas with two sacks.

Marana's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Corona del Sol, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 5-2.

Everything came up roses for Marana against Corona del Sol in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 40-7 victory. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Aztecs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
