Softball Recap: Riverton Rams vs. Girard Trojans
After losing to Girard the last time they met, Riverton decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Riverton Rams put the hurt on the Girard Trojans with a sharp 17-7 victory on Thursday.
Elizabeth Wells made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off eight hits. Wells has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive pitching appearances. Wells was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Marlee North and Laurel Evans did most of the damage at the plate: North scored three runs while going 2-for-5, while Evans scored three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
