Volleyball Game Preview: Sanger Apaches vs. Clovis Cougars

The Sanger Apaches are taking a road trip to face off against the Clovis Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Sanger is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They came out on top against Clovis North by a score of 3-1.

Clovis extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Gabe Surla. The Cougars blew past Central East 3-0 last Thursday with plenty of help from Surla, who had seven digs and three aces. He has been hot for a while, having also posted 12 or more assists the last 17 times he's played.

Clovis not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Central East between 15 and 18 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-15, 25-18.

Sanger's record now sits at 29-12. As for Clovis, their record is now 22-4.

Sanger couldn't quite get it done against Clovis in their previous meeting back in April as they fell 3-1. Can the Apaches avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
