Softball Game Preview: Apex Cougars vs. Green Level Gators

Apex is a perfect 7-0 against Green Level since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Cougars will welcome the Gators at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Apex came up short against Holly Springs on Tuesday, falling 18-6. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Golden Hawks recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Leah Kendall made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-3. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Addie Louder, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Green Level was not able to break out of their rough patch two weeks ago as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 9-2 to Middle Creek.

Green Level saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexa Agostini, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one triple. That triple was Agostini's first of the season.

Green Level's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Apex, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Apex took their win against Green Level in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 15-7 score. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Gators have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
