Baseball Game Preview: Redlands Terriers vs. Redlands East Valley Wildcats

Redlands hasn't had much luck against Redlands East Valley recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Terriers will welcome the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Redlands was handed a seven-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Beaumont 4-3. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Terriers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Redlands East Valley posted their closest win since March 5th on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past Citrus Valley 2-1. The game was the first time the Wildcats have beaten the Blackhawks on their field since March 18, 2023.

Cash Dabbs spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up nine Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Redlands East Valley is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-6 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Redlands East Valley's victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Alan Gibbons, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

The win got Redlands East Valley back to even at 8-8. As for Redlands, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 7-6.
