Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Loss Ends Elysian Fields' Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Elysian Fields unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Harleton Wildcats. The Yellowjackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

John Beavers was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Elysian Fields is 6-3 when he allows at most two walks, but 1-9 otherwise. Beavers was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Beavers wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Evan White, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Elysian Fields' defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Harleton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

While Elysian Fields had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
