Soccer Recap: Oasis Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Oasis couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost 8-1 to the Aubrey Rogers Patriots on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Sharks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 206th, while the Patriots are ranked 56th).

Oasis' goal came courtesy of Arianna Cates, who's now up to four this season.

Oasis' loss dropped their record down to 14-5-2. As for Aubrey Rogers, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4-1 record this season.

Oasis will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on North Broward Prep at 7:00 p.m. on February 11th. North Broward Prep's defense has only allowed 0.5 goals per game this season, so Oasis' offense will have their work cut out for them. Aubrey Rogers has already played their next contest, a 2-2 victory against Bishop Verot on the 29th.
