Basketball Recap: Bushland Comes Up Short

Bushland was the 55-39 winner over Clovis when they last played one another back in December of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Bushland Falcons fell 54-44 to the Clovis Wildcats on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 509th in Texas, while the Wildcats are ranked third in New Mexico).

Clovis got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Amanda De La Rosa out in front who went 6 of 12 on her way to 20 points and seven rebounds. De La Rosa is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Kerrington Goff, who went 7 of 11 en route to 15 points and six rebounds.

Bushland now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Clovis, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

Bushland will take on Sudan in a holiday battle at at 6:30 p.m. on December 17th. Sudan has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Clovis, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 52-41 win against Robertson on the 12th.
