Smoky Valley and Halstead are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2021, but not for long. The Vikings will challenge the Dragons on Monday.

On Thursday, Smoky Valley came up short against Clay Center and fell 2-0. The Vikings have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-18.

If Pratt wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Halstead, they should've done a better job of containing Daynica Euwer. The Dragons walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Greenbacks on Tuesday for which the team can thank Euwer, who had ten digs and two aces. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last four times she's played.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Halstead took both sets by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-14.

Smoky Valley's loss dropped their record down to 12-21. As for Halstead, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 23-5.

Smoky Valley couldn't quite get it done against Halstead in their previous meeting last Tuesday as they fell 2-0. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
