Mitchell had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They skirted past the Palmetto Tigers 9-7. The victory was familiar territory for the Mustangs, who have now won seven games in a row.

Cayden Thomas continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 229 yards on 18 of 28 attempts, while also rushing for 46 yards. A healthy portion of Thomas' aerial production (103 yards to be exact) went to Bryce Backus.

Mitchell's record now sits at 10-2. As for Palmetto, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-2.

Coming up, Mitchell will face off against West Boca Raton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs will need to watch out since the Bulls have now posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups. Palmetto does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
