Basketball Recap: Dobie Longhorns vs. Sam Rayburn Texans
After losing to the Sam Rayburn Texans the last time they met, the Dobie Longhorns decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Dobie skirted past the Texans 42-40.
When it comes to explaining why Sam Rayburn lost on Tuesday, one person who can't be blamed is Yvette Gutierrez. Despite the final result, she scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gutierrez has scored all season. Natalie Hinojosa was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Dobie's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-18. As for Sam Rayburn, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-15.
Dobie does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Sam Rayburn will be playing in front of their home fans against the Deer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Deer Park knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matchups -- so hopefully the Texans like a good challenge.
