Football Recap: Princeton Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Princeton extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to nine on Friday, dropping them down to 0-4. They were dealt an 80-40 defeat at the hands of the Pattonsburg Panthers. Even if the Tigers couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

Despite the loss, Princeton still got an impressive performance from Judd Henke, who picked up 43 receiving yards and one score, and also threw for 148 yards and one touchdown on only 13 passes.

As for Pattonsburg, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. While they didn't have the best season last year (they finished 1-9), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

A big part of Pattonsburg's victory came down to the chemistry between Gage Fortner and his top target Camden Griffith. Fortner threw for 237 yards and eight TDs while completing 87% of his passes while Griffith gained 197 total yards and four touchdowns. Those eight passing touchdowns gave Fortner a new career-high. Wyatt Maize got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Princeton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 72-22 loss against King City on the 26th. As for Pattonsburg, they have also already played their next contest, a 72-19 win against Stanberry on the 26th.
