Football Recap: St. Michael the Archangel Takes a Loss

St. Michael the Archangel suffered their biggest loss since September 13, 2024 on Friday. They were outmatched by the Hayden Wildcats and fell 49-0. The Guardians lost against the Wildcats in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 42-14 score last time.

Gage Burgess threw for 203 yards on 12 of 28 attempts. James Wilson was his top target, picking up 94 receiving yards.

St. Michael the Archangel now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Hayden, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, St. Michael the Archangel will host Pembroke Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hayden, they will venture away from home to face off against Bishop Ward on Friday. The game will give the Wildcats their first taste of in-conference action this season.
